Swedish Texts:

Maybe you may be surprised, that I just speak about feminism on a webpage that has Sweden for subject. Previously people criticized, that feministic themes had little to do with Sweden, that they were important all right and worth mentioning, but please in an other rubric.

My answer is: Yes! The equal status of both sexes is indeed non-detachable of (almost) all fields of life. And not enough: It even belongs to them. The suppression of women is nothing, that could be isolated from the "rest." And very often for us women this question is of special importance. Therefore we have to talk about women´s rights in all these fields of life.

Feminism has even something to do with Sweden. On the one hand in Sweden are thoughts and opinions to that subject as well, which I want to give the chance to be also heared by people who do not speak Swedish, on the other hand it goes without saying, that in Sweden (just as everywhere in the world) women are being suppressed, and last but not least we are here in the internet.

Because unfortunately women are absolutely under-represented in the internet, the same as in many fields of life (quite apart from the fact that discrimination and sexism come across everywhere). Proceeding from the average white man webpages are being created by men for men. Not unreasonably pages with pornographical contents are being highly frequented.

I personally consider the fact that "older" women, conditioned by their socialization, do not have a great access to that medium as a main reason for the retention of the female half of human being. For the junger generation it is different: Already in school both sexes learn equally to deal with computers and internet, and even leisure-time activities would be almost unthinkable without computergames & Co. Therein I see the great chance for us (at least in the future) to remove the dominating of the "lords of creation" in the www and thereby to force a real equal status of both sexes.

It is very important, that we as women tell about what we are thinking. And this not only privately at home but to the whole world.

The following texts have been selected from the feministical aspect. Either women get a hearing or men write about emancipation. What matters is to put up resistance against the dominating of men (not only but also) in the internet. I would like to make a little contribution for a world without sexism, rassism or social oppression.
